Immunotherapy

Immunotherapy

Some forms of cancer respond better to immunotherapy than others. It either helps train the immune system to fight cancer cells specifically or strengthens the immune system in a broader fashion. Immunotherapy, which boosts the body’s own immunity, has recently emerged as a weapon against cancer. Many lives have been transformed since the introduction of this therapy. Immunotherapy works by boosting the body’s own immune system’s ability to combat the enemy, which in this case is cancer cells. In the future years, a lot of study is being done in this subject to better understand and utilise it to its full potential.

This can be accomplished in a number of ways:

  • Getting your immune system to work harder or smarter against cancer cells by stimulating it.
  • Providing components of your immune system, such as man-made immune system proteins.
  • Blocking the pathways that prevent the body's immune system from working properly.
